2025-2026 Registration

Returning scouts will receive an email from Scouts BSA when it is time to renew their membership. This is done on an annual basis based on the date of the initial registration with Scouts BSA. Please be on the lookout for those emails. You can always check your membership status and renewal date by logging into your account at my.scouting.org

New scouts can register with Pack 461 using the link below. You will need to create a my.scouting.org account. BSA Membership fees are paid during the registration process.

Youth: $240

  • Membership Fees $165 (this includes National BSA fees of $85 and local Occoneechee Council fees of $80). These are paid during the online registration process at my.scouting.org

  • Pack Dues $75 (covers Pack fees to National and Council and other Pack-level expenses such as Pinewood Derby® car kits, Pack "Class B" T-shirt, patches and awards, food at some events, etc.). We will notify you when it is time to submit pack fees for the year.

Adult (optional): $91

  • Membership Fees $91 (includes National BSA fee of $65 and local Occoneechee Council fees of $26). These are paid during the online registration process at my.scouting.org

  • We do not assess any Pack dues for adults

  • All adults registering with the pack must complete online youth protection training before their registration will be approved by the Chartered Organization Representative. This training takes 2 hours and you can save and resume training as needed.

Additional costs: Most activities that the pack participates in are covered by the pack dues. However, occasionally there are additional small expenses for certain special events or outings that the annual dues are insufficient to cover. These events are always optional and typically range from $5 to $15.

Scouts will need a "Class A" uniform to fully participate in Scouting. Only the uniform shirt is required, all other items are optional, although many scouts choose to wear the full uniform. Scouts K-3rd grade receive belt loops to recognize their accomplishments and therefore might want to have a belt to show them off. Likewise, scouts 4th-5th grade receive pins to recognize their accomplishments and therefore might want to purchase the Adventure Colors ribbons to display their pins. Uniforms can be purchased at the local Occoneechee Council Scout Shop or online. You can find more details about Uniforms here.

Scout Handbooks are highly encouraged but not always required and can be purchased at the Scout Shop or online. You can ask your den leader if your scout needs to have a handbook. Lions (Kindergarten) and Tigers (1st grade) must have Scout Handbooks to fully participate because at this age group the programming includes workbooks for coloring and guiding activities. Handbooks can be picked up at the Occoneechee Council Scout Shop or purchased online.

We do not want any barriers for youth to participate in Scouting or be involved with our pack. If these fees are a financial hardship for your family, you can apply for need-based scholarships to cover some or all of the costs. Additionally, the pack has a limited number of gently used uniform shirts for those who are interested. Please contact the Pack Committee Chair or Cubmaster for more information.
